FreakQ by Audio Assault
Review by Damien Walsh
This week I've spent some time using the FreakQ. This is an EQ designed to add color to your tracks offering a rich analog sound that you may find in other EQs such as the Waves 550A, UAD Trident and FabFilter Pro-Q just to name a few.
The FreakQ does what it says on the tin and provides nice definition and subtle saturation to bring out a nice character particularly on the low end and works really well on bass and drums.
For the price this is an excellent EQ that can offer something a little different to your mix and stands up to some of the more expensive EQs in the market. The sound isn't for everyone, but if you like a little edge to your guitars, bass and even vocals, I'd recommend you give this a try!
Take a listen below to get an idea what the FreakQ can do to add something special to your mix.
